What I’ve learned is that in the most difficult times, the person or people that you’ve never met before will be the ones that help you the most. Making sure that I was okay and processing it day by day with phone calls and texts. All done with a very pleasant voice. Joe very quiet and pleasant person, I would say that he has a quiet spirit. So caring and understanding, you can count on him to assist you. So where do I start…from the very very beginning when Aikens received my dad from hospice, I knew we were in good hands! The driver prayed with me right in the room before departing with him and gave me some very comforting words. The rest of the process was just as peaceful and comforting as I worked with Alexis, Cynthia, Tom, and Deirdre to bring all the details together in such a short time of 5 days! Obituary, Death Certificate, Program, Memorial Video, Music, Flowers, Clothing, Limos, etc…a lot has to get done in short order and the team works diligently to make sure it does. The day of the funeral services, 10/15, was EVERYTHING for me! I got to see all the details we discussed and plan come together as close to flawless as you can get and all I had to do was show up and share a Reflection of my Dad. EVERYTHING was beautiful and done in excellence. Family and Friends all said the service was beautiful, uplifting/not sad and that our dad looked amazingly like himself. All wins! And their service doesn’t stop there. They have checked in on us after the services - still comforting still fostering healing! During a time of loss…this is the level of professionalism and service that you need in order to stay emotionally sane and heal. I am forever grateful for working with Cheryl and her team at Aikens.
